koh lanta

From Singapore we arrived at the Krabi Airport, W coast.
(Nick) Here we go. I'd really like to see some islands.
Oh boy. Look at that.
Beautiful day. Let's get this thing landed.
Looks amazing out there. We're headed to the beach ASAP.
The shuttle to the ferry took us too... The bus station. Ok. Is that right?
Wait. What just happened? Blue skies. Beaches. We were so close. Where are they taking us?
Long bus ride. Tight conditions.
Strange ferry ride. Kind of like taking the freight elevator. No body exits the van.

(Holly) Oh look. Another car ferry, because the first one wasn't enough fun.
(Nick) Almost seems strange to share this picture. I love this girl.
We made it out of the van.
Hit the eject button on the side of the road.
 Rain is coming down.
Where are we going...
Trust us.
We'll know when we get there.
(Holly) We walked a ways. I think a long walk on the beach was fine by the two of us. There we were on Koh Lanta in the off season. Not bad. We walked around and took a glance at a few resorts, nothing seemed to fitting. We came across one. It looked expensive for my typical backpacking bungalows. Nick suggested we just check it out to see the rate and availability. I figured it would be a minimum of 1300, being beachside with a pool and up-scaled landscaping.
Nakara Long Beach Resort - Koh Lanta
(Holly) And how about that guy of mine. We couldn't have found a better place. Things just fell together.

Our resort offered meals, but from my experience, the food is a bit too Western and tame. I suggested we hit the road to find some street venders.
We found our place.
..and a smiling face. We ordered some of the best grilled chicken. It was so good. I didn't think it looked like anything spectacular, I was just wanting some green papaya salad. That's were I went wrong.
We brought our food back to meet the sunset.
Beautiful place along the beach, all to ourselves.
We made it just in time and with one beautiful view back to our place.

(Holly) That man made some tasty chicken and som tam. Yum. We sat together with some unique Thai food and a Chang beer. One of my favorite moments in Thailand.
Aside from a Thai family, I don't recall seeing anyone around. Oh wait, there was a French guy that walked into our room before we hit shut eye. It was more awkward for him than us. Ha.
The water was rather cool, but that didn't stop Nick from jumping in.
We hungout around our bungalow before calling it a night.

(Nick) Need to get somewhere? Find thee road. Stop. Look around. Find a tuk tuk or motorbike taxi with a sidecart driving by. Hop in.
(Holly) Yes, he has hair like a Chia pet. haha, keeps me smiling over here.
Drying shrimp in that island sun.
Local home near the ferry pier.
(Holly) Getting ready to head to Koh Phi Phi.

Koh Phi Phi here we come!
